The GAA Club
The Gateway Aerostatic Association was formed over 30 years ago making it one of
the oldest balloon organizations in the country. The goal of the GAA is to promote safe
and enjoyable ballooning through education and group activities. Our membership has
been graced with the presence of many pioneers of the sport including Nikki and Don
Caplan, Ed Yost, and Don Piccard. Our current membership includes full-time
commercial pilots, national competitors, weekend flyers, crew members, and
enthusiasts. The GAA is open to all who have an interest in lighter-than-air aerostation.
