Mission Statement
To promote public interest and generate enthusiasm in the ancient art of aerostation; to better the communication and fellowship of balloon pilots and enthusiasts; to promote safety in all phases of ballooning activity both commercial and sporting; to establish a rapport with and disseminate accurate information to the non-ballooning community.

GAA Crew Achievement Program
In an effort to get more crew involved in the GAA, we have developed a GAA Crew Achievement Program that is free to any GAA crew or student pilots. Commercial and Private pilots are NOT eligible. See links below for the program guidelines and application form. Questions please contact any GAA Board member.

Jefferson County Glows 2008
Saturday, September 13, 2008 (gates open at 10am) "JEFFERSON COUNTY GLOWS" ... 2nd Annual Hot-Air Balloon-Glow at the Festus Airport. This spectacular Free event is brought to you by the Jefferson College Foundation and the Citizens for Airport Economic Expansion. This year, plenty of parking is available! Plane rides for a small charge during daylight hours! Activities for all ages! So, gather your friends - wake the neighbors - sound the alarm - and plan to visit food and vendor booths, enjoy live entertainment and stay for a breath-taking exhibit of TWELVE tethered and glowing balloons at twilight (about 7 pm). St. Charles County Parks Pemit Update
Pilots wishing to use any of the St .Charles County Parks for launches/landings are now required to reapply for their use permits each year. (This is a change from last year when we were told the permits did not expire) Pilots must also send a copy of their CURRENT Insurance policy with the completed permit.
